Eddy Arnold
Eddie Arnold, Rest in Peace, May 8, 2008. Without a doubt the top business saave country music singer...
At a young age (eleven) Eddy's father passed away {1929}. The farm depression had already started in the middle 1920s which caught up with the whole country in the 30s. Needless to say, the Arnold family gave everything back due to excessive debt. Later, Mr. Arnold was quoted saying, "I have always had that horror of winding up broke... being dependent on someone."
Experts describe his music as MOR, Middle of the Road. Quote, "I think people identify with me and they think I'm a friend", said Eddy, "Especially the women... in an autograph line a young woman came through the line, leaned over, put her mouthright behind my ear, said quietly: 'I want some of your body...' It happened, It happened a lot.."
(article quoted from country music magazine early 70s)
