Jack died when Johnny was 12, Jack was very religious, wanted to be a preacher. He fell on one of those big flat table saws. According to JC, Jack lived for about eight days in the hospital, heard the angels singing just before death.

Married Vivian Liberto after getting out of the Air Force in 1954.

(Johnny)After I became famous, Vivian would see how the girls would fall at our feet, just beggin', crawlin', you know. This drove her nuts...she never really supported my music career anyhow."
