The rodeo song was written by Gaye Delorme. It was recorded by Garry Lee And Showdown and also by The Patriot Band both in 1981. Gaye Delorme worked with Cheech and Chong in the 70's & 80's. He also co-wrote thier hit "Earache My Eye".

Not only did David Allan Coe not sing this, but then people can't even spell David Allan Coe's name correctly. I find this crap "David Allen Cole" all over. I don't know why idiots all over the Internet keep saying this song is by David Allan Coe when it was never written or even performed by him.
If you've ever heard a song by David Allen Coe he does NOT even sound anything like the guy singing The Rodeo Song because it was Gary Lee who sung this.
"Gary Lee and Showdown" actually published The Rodeo Song in 1981, never David Allan Coe. DAC has a deeper voice and sings much slower songs.
