I knew Riley Crabtree who wrote Shackles and Chains. He lived in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He was in a wheelchair and died in a house fire in Coopers Chapel in the late 70's or early 80's. He and his granddaughter would sing this song on some of the shows I use to do, and they were great. He also use to sing this song at Panther Hall Ball Room many years ago. Great Memories.
