When you were blue and I was green

by Frank
(Dothan, Alabama, USA)

I have this recorder from the radio in the early 80's but cannot find the recording artist or song now. It is on you tube with Joe Stampley but it is very poor with some of the word having been changed. Does anyone know this song info?

BLUE AND GREEN
by: BMac

I think you're talking about a song by Earl Thomas Conley from one of his first albums called "Blue Pearl." One of the greatest albums of that era in country music. Sadly out of circulation and only available on vinyl and in some rare cases on cassette or 8 track. These are the tracks. Every song on this album is great.

01. Too Much Noise (Trucker's Waltz)
02. Dreamin' All I Do
03. Stranded on a Dead End Street
04. You Don't Have to Go Too Far
05. Fire and Smoke
06. Played This Game Enough
07. Blue and Green
08. Silent Treatment
09. Middle Age Madness
10. This Time I Hurt Her More

when you were blue and I was green was on the Liberty label, recorded in 81 or 82 and sang by Kim Bassy. I am unsure of the spelling of Kim (kem)and last name pronounced Base-see A male singer and a pretty love song making reference to when she was blue (lonely, sad, hurting)and I was green (novice, beginner, virgin, new to love).
